BIOSKETCH

Dr. Feng Zhu received his B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Guangxi University in 2010. He then pursued his Ph.D. degree at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) under the supervision of Prof. Zhong-Xia Wang, graduating in 2015. Following his doctoral studies, he joined Prof. Yian Shi's group at Colorado State University (CSU) as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2016, he moved to Prof. Maciej Walczak’s group at University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder) as a postdoctoral fellow. Over the five-year study in Walczak lab, he focused on the development of novel methods for the preparation and selective functionalization of saccharides, peptides, and proteins. In March 2021, he embarked on his independent career as an Associate Professor in the Frontiers Science Center for Transformative Molecules at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His current research interests revolve around the exploration of novel and efficient strategies for synthesizing carbohydrates, peptides, and other molecules with essential chemical and biological properties. Drawing on his expertise in organic chemistry, he aims to address contemporary challenges in the fields of chemistry, biology, and medicine.

上海交通大学教育部变革性分子前沿科学中心长聘副教授，博士生导师，入选2021年国家级人才计划青年项目、上海市领军人才计划（海外）、上海市扬帆计划、唐仲英青年学者、小米青年学者项目。2010年保送中国科学技术大学硕博连读，2015年获有机化学专业博士学位。2015年-2021年，在美国科罗拉多州立大学和科罗拉多大学博尔德分校从事博士后研究。2021年入职上海交通大学，2025年破格晋升长聘副教授(Tenured)。研究方向聚焦糖化学合成、蛋白质化学修饰和糖化学生物学。共发表学术论文41篇，其中通讯和第一作者论文（含共同）40篇，包括 Nat. Mach. Intell. (1篇)，Chem (1篇),  Nat. Commun. (3篇)，J. Am. Chem. Soc. (6篇)，Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (6篇)，CCS Chem. (1篇), ACS Cent. Sci. (1篇)等。现任Glycoscience & Therapy、Chemical Synthesis、Organic Chemistry Frontiers 青年编委。
